Sloat Shaw is an artist focused on the unconscious part of her brain and that of her viewers. Through a unique metaphysical practice, Shaw “turns off” her analytic mind in order to creative vital and mythical works of art that take days, weeks, and often months to complete. Shaw’s work has been featured in 7 solo shows and in over 50 invitational exhibitions.  In 2010 Shaw had a dual show with a Mongolian artist at the MKL Gallery, Somerville, MA. She also participated in the TransCultural Exchange’s Curated Salon at the London Biennale. Since 2007 her work has appeared at “Art Now” during Art Basel Miami Beach; Safe-T-Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; White Raven Studios, Las Cruces, NM; overseas at the Hanoi Museum, Vietnam; and in galleries and public spaces throughout Boston, MA, where she currently lives and works.

Sloat Shaw’s work has been purchased for over 200 collections, including the Fogg Museum at Harvard University, Art Complex Museum of Duxbury, MA; Worcester Art Museum, MA; Boston Public Library Printmaking Collection, MA. In 1994, she received a painting award from Diane Waldman, then Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Guggenheim Museum. Shaw has taught drawing and painting at Lesley College, Wentworth Institute, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Danforth Museum, and The Institute of Noetic Sciences.
