Sloat Shaw is an artist and educator based in Boston, MA. Her work includes paintings and prints that explore Earth’s cycles and the dreamtime that underlies everyday reality. She integrates pigments, stitch-work, and archetypal imagery to access the unconscious. Meditation is central to her practice, and she guides students in channeling energy to uncover hidden realms of creativity.
In 2025, the RISD Museum in Providence, RI purhcased two of her lithographs -- Earth Recovered Memories; Awakening Dawn (2020) and Hope Rising From the Earth (2020) for their permanent collection. Among her eleven solo exhibitions, are shows at Asilomar in California the St. Botolph Club in Boston, the Zen Gallery in Vietnam. Her paintings and prints have appeared in group exhibitions at Wedeman Gallery at Lasell College, the Providence Art Club, the Museum of Printing, and in virtual spaces.
Shaw teaches studio art, leads workshops, and offers guest lectures and artist talks internationally. Her work draws deeply from time spent in Tibet, the Indian Himalayas, and a residency with Zen Gallery and teaching at Ho Chi Minh University in Vietnam. She reflects,“The Earth is not silent—she moves, responds, remembers. When we become quiet enough, we can hear her. That’s when I paint.”
